Join us in 2022 at Memorial Park
The Houston Run for the Fallen is a program for walkers, joggers and runners whose mission is clear and simple: To raise awareness for the lives of Houston area service members who have fallen Post 9/11/2001 including casualties of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, NEW DAWN and INHERENT RESOLVE; to rejuvenate their memories and keep their spirits alive; to support organizations that aid Texas Gold Star Families, and to aid in the healing process for those families whose lives have been affected by combatant or non-combatant situations.
On Memorial Day Weekend 2022, we will place an American flag at Memorial Park in Houston, TX for each Houston-area service member who has fallen. Each mile ran and each flag posted is to pay homage to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and to their families left behind. Our intent is to create a memorial trail, even if just for one weekend, to honor those members.
You can find our tribute along Memorial Drive, to the west of the entrance to the Eastern Glades, along the Seymour Lieberman Exertrail. The entrance is located at 6502 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77007 and parking is available throughout Memorial Park.
Honor and Remember
Our Fallen Heroes
They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
